Pedro Martínez was one of the best pitchers in baseball history, and he won a ton of awards because of how good he was. He earned three Cy Young Awards and made eight All Star teams and won the Triple Crown in 1999, and helped the Boston Red Sox win the World Series in 2004. During his career, he played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, and Philadelphia Phillies. Pedro was known for throwing really fast, using a nasty changeup that fooled hitters, and having amazing control so he could put the ball exactly where he wanted. Even though he wasn’t the biggest guy, he pitched with a lot of confidence and energy, and hitters were always nervous to face him because he mixed his pitches so well and wasn’t afraid to throw inside.
